Shots from Western Australia

It is rare that places on film look like they do in my memories. Not so this time.

My favourite ones from the trip. Rest are on facebook.

Voyager Estate, Margaret River. White-washed buildings, wrought iron chairs, roses, vines and a rainbow.

Climbing roses from the Voyager garden:

Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse - there were two ravens on the branch, but they flew off as I tried to sneak up on them, so just imagine them there for the full stark, windswept effect.

Vasse Felix, Margaret River.

A pair of brothers along Surfer's Point, Margaret River:

Daisies at New Norcia.

Augusta boat jetty.

Lancelin - stormy seatown of white sand dunes.

untitled

there are these roots that bring me
back to home

a seed does not ask
to leaf
blossom
grieve nor shed

nor to grow alone

the frost wakes memories sleeping in white bones:
a winged seed glimmers on the wind,
paper notes whisper
of quiet growth brushed by rains
aching summer days
when all things were
possible

but a leaf falls
all the same

by being I've ceased to be

yet there are these roots
that bring me back to home
