silks

dance has been me time, for the last 6 years or so. first salsa, then exotic, now poles and the latest, silks. with it, new friendships.
reconnection with the body i'm rarely aware of. movement, working with, not against. understanding limits. how far to push yourself before the body punishes you the next day. the soothing times of practice, refinement. things to look forward to. and a quiet, growing passion. Perhaps love.
suppleness, grace and strength. finding my own voice perhaps, or just, finding me.
The wind? I am the wind.
The sea and the moon? I am the sea and the moon.
Tears, pain, love, bird-flights? I am all of them. I dance what I am.
Sin, prayer, flight, the light that never was on land or sea?
I dance what I am.
